
Dementia Care Leader

We are seeking a visionary leader to drive our psychosocial vision and deliver exceptional care for individuals with dementia.
About the RoleThe Head of Psychosocial Department will be responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive psychosocial care strategy that integrates clinical, emotional, and social wellbeing for persons with dementia (PWDs).
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellence in dementia care, behaviour support, and resident engagement.
- Shape and execute a psychosocial care strategy that integrates clinical, emotional, and social wellbeing for PWDs.
- Person-Centred Psychosocial Care for Residents with Dementia:
- Lead the development and implementation of individualized living well care plans that address cognitive, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Provide guidance in regular rounds, assessments, behavioral interventions, and crisis management.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
- Drive adoption of non-pharmacological interventions, cognitive stimulation programmes, and behavioural support frameworks to enhance residents' quality of life.
- Lead research initiatives, including conceptualization, data analysis, and reporting.
- Staff Training, Coaching, and Support:
- Supervise, mentor, and train staff in the multiple clinical departments.
- Build the psychosocial skills and confidence of nursing, allied health, and care staff through structured training in communication, de-escalation, and empathetic engagement with residents.
To be successful in this role, you will have a Master's or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or a related discipline, substantial dementia-care experience, and a proven capacity to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams. You should also possess strong background in dementia psychology, behavioural interventions, and emotional wellbeing, as well as excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
You will be required to demonstrate a genuine commitment to advancing dementia care, resilience, adaptability, and a strong foundation in elderly and dementia care. Additionally, you should be familiar with Singapore's eldercare frameworks, subsidies, and regulatory requirements.
