The Hotel Revenue Optimization Lead is a strategic role that drives revenue growth and profitability for hotels by optimizing room and function space inventory.
This position involves analyzing market trends, developing pricing strategies, and implementing sales initiatives to maximize revenue and profits.
The Hotel Revenue Optimization Lead will contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and analysis of revenue, profit, and demand associated with hotel rooms and space inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine optimal room and function space inventory levels to maximize revenue.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimize revenue.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform sales initiatives.
- Collaborate with hotel teams to ensure effective implementation of sales strategies.
- Critique sales strategy effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor transient and group inventory daily to ensure straight-line availability and maximization of revenue potential.
- Communicate and implement sales strategies and rate restrictions as market conditions fluctuate.
- Support cluster selling initiatives by working with all reservation centers.
- Use reservations system and demand forecasting systems to determine, implement, and control selling strategies.
- Evaluate property diagnostic processes to maximize revenue and profits.
- Initiate, implement, and evaluate revenue tests.
- Ensure compliance and participation in company promotions and eCommerce channels.
- Maintain brand strategies to achieve revenue per available room (RevPAR) and revenue per available square foot (RevPAS).
- Understand the working relationship between sales, reservations, and property management systems.
- Promote and protect brand equity.
- Achieve and exceed performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
- Attend meetings to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate, and manage activities and solutions.
- Establish long-range objectives and specify strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
- Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders.
Analyzing and Reporting Revenue Management Data:
- Analyze actual sales against projected sales and create long-range forecasts.
- Create weekly forecasts for property operations and staffing purposes.
- Conduct sales strategy analysis and refine as appropriate to increase market share.
- Maintain accurate reservation system information.
- Analyze period-end data to identify trends, future need periods, and obstacles to achieving goals.
- Generate updates on transient segment each period.
- Assist with account diagnostics process and validate conclusions.
- Provide revenue analysis functional expertise to general managers, property leadership teams, and market sales leaders.
- Prepare forecasts of revenue, profit, demand, and occupancy for rooms and function space – for prescribed timeframes.
- Prepares revenue and profit opportunity analysis.
- Manage all revenue, profit, and demand data associated with rooms and function space.
- Develop and/or use analytical tools and systems to maximize revenues and profit.
- Identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
