Operations Manager

This role oversees channel operations and distribution, ensuring high quality of service.

Main responsibilities include monitoring performance, resolving incidents, managing third-party suppliers, delivering service improvements and maintaining technical documentation.

  • Monitor performance to ensure high availability and quality of service. Collate data to report on operational effectiveness and drive continuous improvement across workflows.
  • Manage channel operations and distribution suppliers, reviewing upcoming maintenance, ensuring prompt incident management and contractual adherence.
  • Create reports on service levels and communicate updates to internal stakeholders and external customers or partners.
  • Lead cross-functional operational meetings and collaborate with teams to manage service performance.
  • Ensure delivery specifications, operational guidelines and escalation procedures are in place and updated regularly.
  • Capture requirements, liaise with teams to develop solutions and drive opportunities forward.
  • Plan and manage channel operations and distribution projects, ensuring new services are suitably operationalised and supportable.
  • Track and process payments related to channel operations and distribution, contributing accurate data to financial reporting periods.
  • Support technical development, tracking supplier contract terms, researching innovations, recommending and implementing change.
  • Be a point of escalation for service-affecting issues, ensuring critical issues are resolved promptly.
Skill Requirements
  • Proven service management experience, preferably in broadcast or media tech.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex initiatives to different audiences.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers, tracking performance and ensuring contract adherence.
  • Knowledge of broadcast technologies and workflows: playout, satellite, fibre, IP distribution.
  • Excellent planning, documentation and organisational skills, prioritising tasks and working to deadlines.
  • Flexibility to be proactive and reactive, dealing with incidents effectively.
  • Ability to work with multiple businesses simultaneously, managing commercial sensitivities.
  • Excellent influencing and diplomatic skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Resilient under pressure, self-disciplined and self-motivated.
