Catering Sales Executive
Job Summary
This role involves sales and revenue generation in the Banquet Department. The Catering Sales Executive will work closely with the Banquet Operations Department and the Executive Chef to ensure that banquets are executed according to arrangements made with organizers.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish relationships with potential banquet organizers through phone calls, written correspondence, and personal visits, following up on these to achieve a high degree of closed sales.
- Prepare periodic sales reports indicating lead generation, identification, qualifications, presentation, proposal, contract, and other data as required.
- Acquire thorough knowledge of room setup, capacities, packages, menus, and beverage lists to propose suitable solutions to banquet organizers.
- Study, evaluate, and propose improvements for sales opportunities, keeping abreast with new banqueting and catering trends.
- Maintain a current banquet reservation book at all times.
- Actively seek feedback and comments from members, compiling reports of such comments and feedback to analyze performance and identify improvements and potential new offers.
- Handle enquiries pertaining to banqueting, take bookings, and be responsible for allocation of function rooms.
- Issue and explain Events Orders, including amendments, to all concerned in a timely and clear manner to ensure that all functions are carried out to requirements and to full satisfaction of the organizer.
- Inspect function rooms before every event to ensure that set up is in order.
- Handle and solve complaints, reporting all complaints, comments, and compliments to the supervisor.
- Welcome banquet organizers before the event and explain the function's proceedings to ensure that these are to the organizer's satisfaction.
- In consultation with the immediate supervisor and Chef, propose banquet packages and menus for events.
- Encourage repeat patronage and revenues by providing excellent service, upselling, and recommending additional services and activities.
- Check billing for all functions for the manager to verify.
- Maintain statistical information of departmental performance.
- Acquire familiarity with all rules, by-laws, and policies of the establishment, advising members and guests where necessary to adhere to these.
- Advise the supervisor and Human Resources Department of any staff who is on unauthorized absence.
- Assist in any other relevant duties pertaining to F&B services in any F&B outlet as assigned.
- Maintain warm, cordial, and professional relations with members and their guests, without intruding into their privacy or discussing personal matters.
- Assist in handling enquiries pertaining to other outlets or other departments, where necessary.
