Job Title: PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high availability database environments, including monitoring systems, automation tools, log management systems, backup solutions, and other database systems.
  • Perform daily database monitoring, operation, maintenance, optimization, troubleshooting, and security hardening to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies, stress testing, and performance tuning for production databases.
  • Set up clusters and disaster recovery environments to achieve high availability of databases.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and optimization of database performance, and provide technical support to team members.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of database security controls, SQL statements, performance tuning, and troubleshooting application issues.
  • Ensure timely implementation of various types of cutovers, including switchover from one master to multiple slaves, BI data push, cluster data synchronization, and data migration.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree/Post-Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in PostgreSQL database for a junior position; at least 3 years of working experience in PostgreSQL database for a senior position.
  • Strong skills in PostgreSQL, database monitoring, DB automation systems, technical support, HA DB environments, production database testing, SQL statements, performance tuning, and troubleshooting application issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
