As a highly skilled Cloud Database Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day database operations in a cloud environment. This includes ensuring high availability and performance of databases, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and maintaining documentation to meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Monitor and measure database performance and availability, implementing corrective actions as needed. ">
  • Regularly review query execution plans to identify inefficient queries. ">
  • Set up alerts for abnormal database behavior and monitor CPU and memory usage. ">
  • Implement role-based access control and regularly review and update access levels. ">
  • Meet agreed service levels, document and maintain database configurations, and provide regular reporting to relevant parties. ">
  • Propose and implement action plans when required. ">
  • Prepare standard operating procedures for database administration activities. ">
  • Participate in service continuity measures, including backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans. ">
  • Involve and lead in database implementation. ">
  • Define data governance policies related to database operations management. ">
  • Manage database permissions, hardening standards, and database naming standards. ">
  • Keep abreast of database technologies and work with application teams to review database designs and recommend suitable changes to data models. ">
  • Develop standards and procedures related to database environments and ensure they are followed through for all implementations. ">

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration in an operational support environment. They should also have experience in software development or server infrastructure projects, application development with relational databases, and participation in development projects with full exposure as a database administrator in either AWS Cloud or Azure Cloud environment.
