Job Title: Makgeolli Beverage Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Makgeolli Beverage Specialist. As a key member of the beverage service team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and education to guests about makgeolli.

  • You will oversee and manage makgeolli inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and maintaining high-quality products through proper storage conditions.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for FOH staff on makgeolli basics, including its origin, types, and expert service techniques.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of makgeolli varieties to recommend pairings that complement restaurant dishes, driving sales and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Organize and participate in makgeolli tasting events and promotional activities, showcasing diverse varieties and fostering brand loyalty among customers.

Requirements:

  • Possess a strong passion for learning about makgeolli and other Korean beverages.
  • Preferred to have a WSET Level 1 certification or similar basic qualification in wine or beverage service.
  • Ability to engage guests with enthusiasm and professionalism, providing clear explanations and attentive service.
  • Some experience in food and beverage or beverage service is preferred, with familiarity in serving drinks in a semi-fine dining environment.
