Are you passionate about makgeolli and Korean beverages?

We are seeking a skilled Junior Sommelier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of makgeolli, its cultural significance, and the ability to educate guests on its varieties and flavor profiles.

• Provide exceptional service by pouring, presenting, and handling makgeolli with care.
• Educate guests on makgeolli's history, production methods, and pairing recommendations.
• Maintain and monitor makgeolli inventory, ensuring proper storage conditions and quality control.
• Train FOH staff on makgeolli basics, including origin, types, and service techniques.
• Recommend makgeolli pairings that complement restaurant dishes and suggest additional beverages to enhance sales and customer enjoyment.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A passion for learning about makgeolli and Korean beverages.
• Prior knowledge of makgeolli is advantageous.
• A WSET Level 1 certification or similar basic qualification in wine or beverage service.
• The ability to engage guests with enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Some experience in food and beverage or beverage service, preferably in a semi-fine dining environment.
