Job Title: Sommelier Assistant

 

Makgeolli Enthusiasts Wanted - Be a Part of Our Makgeolli Journey

 

  • We are on the hunt for a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier Assistant to join our team. As a Sommelier Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests, educating them about the wonderful world of makgeolli.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the proper storage conditions and freshness of our makgeolli inventory, as well as maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • As a Sommelier Assistant, you will play a key role in training our FOH staff on the basics of makgeolli, including its origin, types, and service techniques.
  • You will have the opportunity to recommend makgeolli pairings that complement our dishes, and suggest additional beverages to enhance sales and customer enjoyment.
  • Additionally, you will assist in organizing and participating in makgeolli tasting events or promotional activities, introducing guests to different varieties and encouraging brand loyalty.

 

Requirements:

 

  • A strong passion for learning about makgeolli and other Korean beverages is essential for this role.
  • Preferred qualifications include a WSET Level 1 certification or similar basic qualification in wine or beverage service.
  • Ability to engage guests with enthusiasm and professionalism, providing clear explanations and attentive service is crucial.
  • Some experience in food and beverage or beverage service is preferred, with familiarity in serving drinks in a semi-fine dining environment.
