Restaurant General Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Restaurant General Manager to lead our Butcher's Block team. As the face and ambassador of the restaurant, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operation and service standards of the outlet to meet and exceed guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the overall operation and service standards of the outlet
- Work closely with the Restaurant Chef de Cuisine to ensure seamless execution of menus and services
- Lead the team to create a nurturing work environment for team members to prosper and excel
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the restaurant and increase revenue
- Manage daily operations, including forecasting sales, covering costs, and ensuring sufficient manning coverage
- Assign responsibilities and tasks to team members, ensuring they are best suited for the role
- Ensure all duties, tasks, and services are carried out according to the required standards
- Consistently adhere to timeline of deliverables and maintain consistency in quality of food, beverage, and service
- Attend briefings and meetings held by the department and update all latest policies as needed
- Provide a leading and consistent guest experience, promoting sales through direct guest contact and handling guest complaints and comments competently and swiftly
- Lead the service and culinary team to personalize guest experience and in accordance with Hotel Standards
- Build strong relationships with local guests and build a loyal following as a foundation for a successful operation
- Be a mentor and role model, proactive, innovative, and with in-depth F&B and market knowledge
- Execute hands-on leadership by actively engaging in colleague support and guest service during all major meal periods
- Lead and support the team to be consistent in service standards, to be collaborative and enabling leadership style
- Drive the team to achieve common goals and build a strong team work
- Use the performance review process to identify and develop talent for growth, management performance issues, and uses coaching styles
- Be culturally affinity and show empathy to all team members
- Coach and train staff to prepare them for the next level within 14-24 months
- Reviews the work performance of all colleagues to make sure that established procedures and policies are followed
- Enforces and upholds highest standards in discipline and knowledge of the contents in disciplinary actions
- Actively enforce colleague motivation and team building
- Observes colleague's individual performance, grooming, punctuality
- Performs staff appraisals/disciplinary actions if required
- Provides a level of Safety and Security for guests and employees
- Assists in recruitment, induct, and train the team who are competent and confident
- Ensures grooming and hygiene practices of colleagues are in line with Raffles Hotel Singapore and National Environmental Agency standards
- Attends daily meetings and all other meetings, which fall under his/her jurisdiction, follows directives given and advises Assistant Director of F&B on topics of importance
- Attends monthly departmental meeting and communicates with the team. Follow up on projects assigned if any
- Checks daily opening and closing duties
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Food & Beverage/Hospitality Management or extensive hands-on experience in similar restaurant concept
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the hotel or free-standing restaurant and bar environment, minimum 2 years in similar position
- Prior experience in celebrity chef restaurant in first-tier city preferred
- Prior work experience in Asia, Singapore, or Southeast Asia preferred
- Accustomed to and comfortable with media exposure
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Oral & written fluency in English and an additional language
- Involvement in reservations and understanding of Revenue Management processes
- Thrive in attention to details and highest quality operation
- Detailed knowledge of culinary trends
- Strong understanding of sustainability
- Familiar with LQA and Forbes standards
