The Wok 2 Chef plays a pivotal role in maintaining the efficiency and consistency of our kitchen. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will be responsible for the timely preparation of Chinese wok dishes while adhering to strict standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Head Chef in cooking high-volume wok dishes with precision and speed.
- Follow standard recipes and presentation guidelines diligently.
- Ensure the wok station remains clean, equipment is well-maintained, and dishes are prepared before service begins.
- Monitor food temperatures and freshness to meet stringent food safety standards.
- Practice portion control and minimize waste.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies.
- Collaborate with kitchen assistants and cooks to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
- Report any equipment or food safety concerns to the Head Chef immediately.
Requirements:
This role requires candidates with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Chinese or Seafood Restaurant kitchens, preferably in a wok station setting. Training will be provided to those who meet the necessary qualifications. Essential skills include:
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of wok techniques, heat control, and food timing.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety protocols.
- Physical fitness to stand for extended periods.
- Able to work 10-hour shifts (6 days a week), including weekends and public holidays.
