About the Group Finance Department
The Group Finance division plays a crucial role in governance and value creation, aligning with UOB's strategic goals. This department is responsible for comprehensive financial, regulatory, and performance reporting for the UOB Group. It also acts as a steward of the Bank's resources, ensuring robust controls and oversight are in place. Additionally, Group Finance supports senior management and various business units by providing valuable insights into performance metrics, enabling informed decision-making for both immediate and long-term objectives.
Financial Information Management (FIM) within Group Finance
The Financial Information Management (FIM) team is tasked with shaping the strategic direction of the Bank's financial systems. Collaborating with stakeholders and technology specialists, FIM delivers innovative solutions that facilitate UOB's growth. The team is dedicated to maximizing the value of Group Finance by optimizing system usage and implementing a controlled financial architecture.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Financial Information Management (FIM) team within Group Finance, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collecting and documenting user requirements.
- Evaluating the functional implications of modifications to financial applications.
- Analyzing user configuration setups necessary for application adjustments.
- Reviewing functional designs to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Overseeing comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including defining testing strategies, preparing test scripts, executing UAT, analyzing results, and ensuring resolution of reported issues.
- Facilitating the transition of projects to production support teams with thorough documentation and training.
- Providing assistance in addressing post-implementation challenges during the warranty phase.
Job Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent professional qualifications.
- 6-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst within a project-oriented environment in the Financial Services sector.
- Demonstrated business analysis capabilities, including experience in gathering and documenting business requirements, and developing testing strategies and scripts for User Acceptance Testing.
- Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in data mapping specifications and querying.
- Analytical mindset with a penchant for system-related tasks.
- Previous experience as a business analyst in areas such as Trade Finance, Financial Accounting, Financial and Regulatory Reporting, or Performance Management reporting is advantageous.
- Confidence in engaging with various management levels.
- Self-motivated with resilience and resourcefulness.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
