About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate market interest for the company's building automation product solutions among key market influencers, specifiers, property developers/managers, and contractors.
  • Assist the company's product distribution channel partners in designing building automation solutions that align with project specifications and utilize the company's product offerings.
  • Educate the company's product distribution channel partners on the functionality and application of its building automation product solutions.

Role Purpose

  • Utilize your expertise in building automation systems, communication protocols, IP networking, and APIs to support specifying and designing activities within the building and construction sector.
  • Leverage your technical knowledge to influence Engineers, Building Owners, and Developers in the design and specification of building automation solutions, including support for building systems such as HVAC, lighting, sustainability initiatives, and other subsystems that affect facility comfort and energy efficiency.
  • Provide support to the company's commercial sales team and assist with local training and marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Establish trust with market influencers and clients, aiming to become their trusted technical advisor, which will enhance product positioning and market share.
  • Join the expanding commercial sales and business development team, with opportunities for growth within this role or transition to related positions through exceptional performance and a success-oriented mindset. You will also gain insights into our products, technology, and industry, preparing you for other exciting roles you may aspire to.

Requirements

As a Building Automation Solutions Consultant, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the building automation and controls industry, with specialized expertise in the design and engineering of building automation systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience influencing market decision-makers, specifiers, and clients in a technical consulting engineering capacity.
  • A high school diploma or an AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2-year post-secondary training) with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to travel for business purposes up to 50% locally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Mechanical or Controls Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of experience in developing and engineering building automation systems.
  • CEM, LEED AP, and WELL AP accreditation or PE certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, lighting, and other building systems, as well as IT networking/integration, focusing on design and maintainability.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced engineering design team.
