Autonomous Navigation Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development of cutting-edge simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) solutions for our fleet of autonomous cleaning robots.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving innovation in SLAM technology, leveraging advanced techniques to deliver real-time, robust performance in dynamic environments.

This role involves not only technical expertise but also mentoring engineers, advancing SLAM research, and shaping the future of autonomous navigation technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SLAM Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and optimize 2D/3D SLAM algorithms for high precision and real-time localization of mobile robots in both indoor and semi-indoor environments.
  • Lifelong Mapping: Develop and maintain 2D/3D lifelong mapping algorithms to ensure seamless navigation and mapping in various environments.
  • System Maintenance and Validation: Regularly maintain, debug, and improve existing algorithms, perform periodic validations to ensure reliable performance, and establish key performance metrics for SLAM system evaluation.
  • Sensor Evaluation and Selection: Evaluate and select optimal sensors related to SLAM applications, such as depth cameras, IMUs, and LiDARs, and collaborate with product and hardware teams to ensure optimal sensor placement.
  • Emerging Technology Research: Explore emerging SLAM and computer vision technologies to enhance system performance, identify opportunities for patentable innovations, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Code Reviews and Quality Assurance: Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high engineering standards and provide feedback for improvement.
