We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as a professor of Chinese language education. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading funded research projects, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and supervising student teachers and junior faculty members.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in curriculum development and pedagogy in the Chinese language
  • Supervise and mentor undergraduate student teachers in their school teaching practice
  • Supervise Masters and PhD dissertation work
  • Mentor young faculty members and serve in NTU committees

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in Applied Linguistics or a related field
  • Extensive experience and expertise in research in second language acquisition, curriculum development, and pedagogy
  • Native or near-native competence in oral and written Chinese and English
  • Demonstrate strong ability for effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
