Established in 1992, the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) is the only full-fledged communication school in Singapore and is a world-class centre of excellence with an international faculty, state-of-the-art research laboratories, and global institutional affiliations.

Our department is seeking to hire a Research Assistant to support the planning and execution of a research project in film studies at WKWSCI. The project will analyse the communication of military values and culture through cinema and other screen media.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of journal article manuscripts, including formatting citations in accordance with the requirements of individual journals.- Conduct literature reviews pertaining to film studies and military theory.- Assist in the identification of relevant motion pictures and similar cultural products for the purposes of the research project.- Analyse and discuss the cultural, ideological and aesthetic dimensions of contemporary popular filmmaking with regard to militarism and military culture.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in film and media studies or related fields- Good IT skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and a video editing software such as Adobe Premier Pro- Good academic writing skills- Good team player with effective communication skills and the ability to work closely with faculty, staff, students and external collaborators
