HR Business Partner Director

As a key member of the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation team, the Director, HR Business Partner will play a critical role in driving business outcomes through strategic HR partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned HR professional to make a meaningful impact on the organization's success.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic guidance and support to department leaders across Singapore and APAC, fostering trusted business partnerships that drive results.
• Identify and develop organizational capabilities and behaviors to build a future-ready workforce, ensuring the organization remains competitive and agile in a rapidly changing market.
• Partner with business leaders to deliver key outcomes on people-related decisions, focusing on workforce capabilities, performance, diversity, and inclusion.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive culture change, delivering and supporting change initiatives that align with business objectives.
• Develop and deploy talent strategies to ensure high-quality succession pipelines exist for critical roles, playing an active role in key talent decisions, rewards, and welfare.
• Manage employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, employee litigation, redundancy, and terminations, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance and support on ongoing HR projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and practices.
• Design and implement company HR policies and procedures, reviewing and updating employment contracts and agreements as needed.
Requirements
• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., HR, Business Administration, Psychology).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in HR Business Partnering and Talent Management, with a proven track record of delivering strategic HR initiatives that drive business outcomes.
• Experience in developing and deploying talent strategies, ensuring high-quality succession pipelines exist for critical roles.
• Proven ability to partner with business leaders, challenging and influencing them to deliver the right outcomes on people-related decisions, focusing on key agenda items such as workforce capabilities, performance, diversity, and inclusion.
• Strong knowledge of local labor laws and HR practices and procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive business outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with business leaders and stakeholders.
• Organized, able to multi-task, and prioritize competing requests from different stakeholders, with strong problem-solving skills.
