Job Description:
As a Lead Volunteer Management Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing volunteer strategies that support the organization's purpose and vision. You will oversee the recruitment, training, and engagement of volunteers, ensuring that they are equipped to contribute effectively to the organization's goals.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement volunteer programs that align with the organization's objectives.
- Recruit, train, and engage volunteers to ensure their effective contribution to the organization's work.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure volunteer contributions and program impact.
- Develop and deliver training programs that equip volunteers with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for volunteers through clear standards, team practices, and day-to-day interactions.
- Guide the conceptualization and delivery of volunteer engagement initiatives, such as appreciation events and bonding sessions.
- Review and address volunteer feedback to enhance their experience, motivation, and contribution.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Education, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in volunteer management, community engagement, learning and development, or stakeholder relations, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing volunteer strategies, training programs, and engagement initiatives.
- Experience working in NGOs, education, or conservation will be an advantage.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in coaching and developing teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of volunteer management systems, training methodologies, and engagement best practices.
- Passion for conservation, education, and community engagement.
- Empathetic and people-oriented, with the ability to build trust and foster positive volunteer experiences.
- Adaptable and resourceful, able to work in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
