We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining corporate partnerships, managing experiential learning projects, and coordinating administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Relationship Development
- Establish and maintain relationships with corporate partners to identify business opportunities and develop partnerships.
- Pitch initiatives to corporates to secure business projects for our MSc programmes.
- Scope business projects with companies, establish objectives, guidelines, and deliverables.
- Solicit feedback on student performances to make recommendations for improvements.
- Feature success stories in marketing materials to encourage corporate participation.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with corporate partners for further collaborations.
- Administration of Management Practicum
- Collate business projects, disseminate to students, and conduct interviews for project allocation.
- Conduct briefings to students undertaking business projects.
- Coordinate coaching workshops to prepare students for business projects.
- Work with Heads of Departments to appoint project supervisors and brief faculty advisors.
- Facilitate initial meetings between companies and student groups, set timelines, and arrange face-to-face/Skype sessions.
- Obtain necessary approvals from academic departments and the MSc Programmes Office.
- Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and guide students on their projects.
- Collate grading reports and obtain company approval for case-release, if necessary.
- Work with relevant parties to ensure timely and accurate grade entry for students.
- Systematically collect feedback and evaluation from corporate partners, students, and supervisors.
- Development of System and Process
- Develop, implement, and update systematic procedures and processes for MSc Programmes Experiential Learning components.
- Develop and administer guidelines for students, supervisors, and corporates.
- Procure and conceptualize promotional materials to aid in pitching initiatives to corporates.
- Liaise with the Office of Legal Affairs on necessary documentation and administer guidelines.
- Other Responsibilities
- Collaborate and synergize between stakeholders, including students, faculty advisors, corporates, and other key departments.
- Benchmark business projects sourced and facilitated in leading business schools to ensure best practices.
- Work with the BIZCareers Office on internships/career opportunities arising from Corporate, business projects/Experiential Learning engagements.
- Identify further experiential opportunities for the MSc programmes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Academic Directors, MSc Director, and Programme Office.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree from a reputable institution, with at least 4-5 years of relevant working experience ideally in academic programmes in tertiary institutions.
- Experience in facilitating industry partnerships and dealing with senior management would be an advantage.
- High level of written and oral communication skills.
- Experienced, confident, and effective working in cross-cultural settings.
- Meticulous with an eye for detail and a keen appreciation of good documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks and deadlines well, and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Team player with a good combination of high intelligence, emotional, and cultural quotient.
- IT savvy, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
