Role Summary

The Tea Sommelier is a pivotal role at Conrad Singapore Orchard, responsible for delivering exceptional tea service experiences to our discerning guests. As a tea connoisseur, you will be the guardian of our tea program, ensuring that every cup meets the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate and manage our extensive tea selection, ensuring that each blend meets the highest standards of quality and flavor.
  • Develop and implement innovative tea pairings and recipes that complement our culinary offerings.
  • Design and deliver engaging tea educational programs for our guests and colleagues, promoting a deeper appreciation for the art of tea.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create harmonious tea and food pairings that elevate the dining experience.
  • Ensure seamless service delivery, managing beverage inventory, procurement, and par stocks to maintain an uninterrupted guest experience.
  • Liaise with suppliers to source the finest tea products at competitive prices.
  • Conduct regular taste testing and quality control to maintain the highest standards of tea quality.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end F&B outlet with a tea program.
  • Strong knowledge of tea production, types, and regions, as well as tea trends and industry developments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and guests.
  • Strong leadership and training skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Familiarity with tea and food pairing principles, as well as menu writing and cost control in F&B.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
