Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for an innovative and strategic Brand Development Executive/Manager to join our team. This pivotal role focuses on exploring and sourcing new brands in food-related products and baby and mummy merchandise, with the goal of growing them into thriving brands in the Singapore market.

The ideal candidate will possess an eye for quality products, strong negotiation skills, and expertise in localizing and positioning products for success.

This role requires collaboration with the business owner for strategic alignment and the business development team for in-market execution, ensuring seamless integration and maximum market impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Brand Sourcing and Identification

  • Identify emerging and established brands in food and baby/mummy categories that have high potential for success in Singapore.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, consumer demands, and competitor activities to ensure a competitive edge.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential brand partners.

2. Negotiation and Relationship Management

  • Lead negotiations with brand owners and suppliers, covering trading terms, pricing, and partnership agreements.
  • Secure market development funds or support from brand owners to drive product success.
  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with international brand owners and suppliers.

3. Product Localisation and Compliance

  • Work with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to adapt product packaging, labeling, and formulation to meet Singapore's compliance standards, including food safety and product certifications.
  • Ensure smooth execution of localization processes while maintaining the brand's identity and appeal.

4. Import and Logistics Coordination

  • Facilitate the end-to-end import process, including customs clearance, documentation, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with logistics partners to ensure cost-effective and timely transportation.

5. Strategic Market Planning and Product Projections

  • Develop product turnover projections and pricing strategies to maximize market potential.
  • Create in-market plans, including promotional activities, campaigns, and product positioning.
  • Regularly analyze product performance and refine strategies to achieve sales targets.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align closely with the business owner to ensure strategic goals are met.
  • Partner with the business development team to ensure successful in-market execution of product launches.
  • Act as the bridge between internal teams and external brand owners to ensure smooth communication and alignment.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Academic Training in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Experienced in brand development, category management, or related roles.
    • Experience in food and/or baby product industries is highly advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
    • Knowledge of Singapore's import and compliance regulations.
    • Strategic thinking and ability to execute on both short-term and long-term objectives.
    • Analytical skills for turnover projections and market analysis.
    • Strong project management capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Personal Traits:
