Roles &Responsibilities

The AssistantDirector, Msc Programmes, a key leadership position in the Schoolof Physical and Mathematical Sciences MSc Programmes team, isresponsible for providing leadership, strategic oversight andoperational guidance for all academic and student administrativeservices to a graduate student population of around 300 across fourprogrammes.

KeyResponsibilities:

Managementof budget andrevenue
  • Oversee theoperational expenditure and budget for all graduate degreeprogrammes
  • Assist in the compilation of annualbudget submissions and programme feerevision


Ensureoperational efficiencies and quality courseprogrammes
  • Lead and manage ateam of staff in relation to student academic matters, programmeadvising, thereby ensuring smoothoperations
  • Administer and coordinate academicprocesses related to student orientation andgraduation
  • Oversee management oftimetabling
  • Drive continuous improvement andinnovation so as to provide best-in-class support services, as wellas back-office efficiency andeffectiveness
  • Translate School's strategiesinto operational goals, and ensure the delivery of high-qualityservices and operationalefficiency


Collaboratewith stakeholders in advancement of graduate degreeprogrammes
  • Work closely withthe academic directors to develop, implement and reviewadministrative and student support systems to ensure excellence instudent service provision
  • Review and streamlineprocesses associated with academic and student administration, andensuring that internal processes are congruent with Universitypolicies
  • Ensure that staff in the respectiveareas of responsibility are familiar and in compliance with theUniversity policies and regulations
  • Maintain aclose rapport and relationship with both internal and externalstakeholders


Requirements:
  • MinimumBachelor's Degree in Business or relatedareas.
  • At least 5 years of relevant workexperience in administration or education programmemanagement.
  • Strong ability to acquire and applyknowledge of University academic policies and regulations, as wellas academic programmes offerings andstructures.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonaland communication skills, both oral andwritten.
  • Financial and budgeting skills, withexperience in managing resources within a budgetary frameworkwhilst ensuring appropriate levels of serviceprovision.
  • Strategic thinking, problem solvingand collaborativeskills.
