Job Description

Manulife Investment Management is in search of a highly driven and experienced Global Director of Strategic Partnerships to join our team. The ideal candidate will spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy to boost assets under management (AUM) and revenue from our key clients. This role necessitates a profound understanding of the investment management sector, exceptional relationship-building capabilities, and a proven history of fostering growth through strategic partnerships. It is a global position and can be based in North America, Europe, or Asia. The incumbent will focus on enhancing our institutional business.

The opportunity
  • Create and execute a holistic strategy to enhance AUM and revenue from Manulife Investment Management's key clients.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with pivotal decision-makers at client organizations.
  • Identify and pursue new business prospects with current clients, incorporating cross-selling and upselling of investment products and services.
  • Lead in business planning and devise solid account plans for our major clients.
  • Develop a robust framework and strategy for engaging senior leadership by leveraging existing resources such as the World Economic Forum and the Geneva Association.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor customized investment solutions that cater to each client's specific requirements.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews with clients to ensure alignment and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and the competitive landscape to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Represent Manulife Investment Management at industry gatherings and conferences.

What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the investment management sector, with a focus on strategic partnerships and business growth.
  • Demonstrated success in fostering growth through strategic partnerships and surpassing revenue targets.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to influence key decision-makers - Outstanding communication and presentation skills, effectively conveying complex investment concepts to clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of developing tailored investment solutions to meet each client's unique needs.
  • Adept at collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
