Head of Academics

About the School:
We are an EduTrust certified Private Education Institution based in Singapore with over a decade of successful track record. The Head of Academics is a key leadership role responsible for the overall educational experience of our students. In addition to teaching, this individual will lead efforts in strategic planning, curriculum design, resource management, as well as student progress monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Instructions & Delivery:
a. Deliver classes and assessments for relevant subjects (e.g. English, Math, Science, etc.) in an effective manner that aligns with learning objectives.
b. Maintain a disciplined, respectable and productive classroom environment.
2. Curriculum Development & Implementation:
a. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of the school’s curriculum in line with government school and Cambridge learning requirements.
b. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and make necessary adjustments to improve student outcomes.
3. Resource Management:
a. Strategically plan for and manage teachers and the school’s academic resources to maintain high academic standards.
b. Stay informed on educational trends, innovations, and regulatory requirements, and integrate these into the school’s academic policies and practices.
4. Student Progress Monitoring:
a. Develop and oversee the implementation of effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and achievement.
b. Ensure that all students are adequately prepared for external examinations and that results reflect the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
5. Strategic Planning:
a. Contribute to the school’s strategic planning process, ensuring that academic goals align with the school’s overall vision and mission.
b. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in academic programs and lead initiatives to enhance the school’s academic reputation.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
a. Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including teachers, school management, students, and parents, regarding academic matters.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree and Diploma in Education, or equivalent. Advanced degrees preferred
2. Proven track record in an academic leadership role with deep experience in curriculum development, teaching, and academic resource management
3. Strong knowledge of government school curriculum and Cambridge program learning requirements
4. Familiar with EduTrust requirements for PEIs in Singapore
Skills:
1. Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills
2. Passion for education, enjoys interacting with children and young adults
3. Excellent leadership skills and ability to effectively manage an academic team
4. Self-starter, strong sense of ownership
