Position Overview The Sales Engineer (SE) in Singapore will be the technical bridge between our Sales Representatives and their pre-sales customers. As a Trend Micro product expert, you will guide customers and prospects in the selection and deployment of Trend Micro Next-Gen security solutions and take joint ownership with the Sales team in developing customer relationships, providing leadership in security architecture, and helping influence the customer’s technical strategy with strong problem-solving skills. A Sales Engineer is a trusted advisor to customers by developing an understanding of customer needs, risks, tolerance and technology gaps and implementation.
Primary Responsibilities- Apart from being a technologist, understand the customer journey with the product and its experience and help the customer navigate through it smoothly
- Focus on Customer Success during the entire engagement, onboarding and product experience journey
- Build and train the sales organization; be an excellent storyteller to help the sales team sell better and more effectively
- Understand the emerging ecosystem of cybersecurity partners like SOC services partners, CSPs (cloud service partners), MSSPs, etc.
- Leverage channel partners by upskilling and training for customer engagement
- Provide routine updates on new product/technology to internal sales staff
- Work closely with Regional/Global Product Manager and Product Marketing Manager to obtain the latest product/technology know-how
- Deliver engaging technical demonstrations highlighting Trend Micro products’ advantages and benefits with strong messaging, presentation skills and public speaking
- Encourage and empower partners and channels to propose, position and convince customers with our products and solutions
- Present complex technical issues and solutions to all levels of an organization in a meaningful, engaging, and digestible manner
- Apply strong problem-solving skills to design solutions that solve customer problems
- Develop close relationships to influence the customer’s technical strategy
- Deliver training to customers and prospects about Trend Micro solutions
- Collaborate with company technical support personnel to ensure ongoing quality of support and customer health
- Contribute to departmental best practices, strategies, methodologies and documentation for increased efficiencies
- Engage in continuous self-improvement and learning to maintain current technical knowledge and participate in technical communities of interest
- Most SEs participate in webinars, workshops and other industry events as speakers or panelists; strong public speaking skills are an advantage
- Minimum 10 years of experience delivering high-quality presales support and solutions, bringing unique value to customers
- Knowledge of SOC operations, security analytics capabilities, cloud architecture, cloud-native application security, SASE, CASB, and Zero Trust models is advantageous
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft O365, Azure, Google Cloud, AWS services is advantageous
- Exposure to security software solutions such as firewall, content security, intrusion prevention, encryption, data leakage and data protection, and monitoring security is advantageous
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- A strong interest in all aspects of cybersecurity and a passion for customer security
- Good understanding of public cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure
