Director/MD – Capital Formation, APAC Company Overview: Our client is a leading global real estate investment manager with a strong track record across core plus and value‑add strategies. With a growing footprint in Asia‑Pacific, the firm is expanding its capital formation capabilities to support its ambitious growth plans and deepen relationships with institutional investors across the region. Role Summary: The Director / MD of Capital Formation will be responsible for leading fundraising efforts, investor relations, and strategic capital partnerships across APAC. This senior role will play a pivotal part in driving capital inflows across multiple strategies and jurisdictions, while representing the firm to a sophisticated investor base. Key Responsibilities: Fundraising Strategy & Execution: develop and execute capital raising strategies for existing and new real estate funds and separate accounts across APAC. Investor Coverage & Relationship Management: build and maintain long‑term relationships with institutional investors including sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurance companies, family offices, and consultants. Market Intelligence & Positioning: monitor investor trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to inform fundraising strategy and product development. Product Development & Structuring: collaborate with investment and legal teams to structure offerings that align with investor preferences and regulatory requirements. Marketing & Communications: lead the creation of investor materials including pitch decks, DDQs, RFPs, and thought leadership content. Internal Collaboration: work closely with investment, research, and operations teams to ensure alignment between capital formation and portfolio strategy. Qualifications & Experience: 15+ years of experience in capital raising, investor relations, or investment banking, preferably within real estate or private markets. Strong network of institutional investors across APAC. Proven track record of successful fundraising across multiple jurisdictions and strategies. Deep understanding of real estate investment structures, fund mechanics, and regulatory frameworks. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives. Multilingual capabilities (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Korean) are highly advantageous.
