**Main Job Purpose**

Responsible to the ITF General Secretary for the operations of the ITF Asia Pacific office including but not limited to:

- Effective leadership and management of employees in the Regional office
- Proactively promoting the activities and interests of the ITF in Asia Pacific
- Fostering and enhancing relations with ITF affiliates in the Region
- Leading trade union education and development activities in the Asia Pacific Region
- Leading and managing the operation of the ITF campaigns in the Asia Pacific Region in cooperation with the ITF Headquarters
- Servicing regional committees and other bodies, including regional section committees
- Promoting and enhancing positive relations with the key ITF affiliates, National Coordinating Committees and other international trade secretariats and international governmental organisations operating in the Asia Pacific Region Fulfilling additional responsibilities outlined by the General Secretary (GS) and Assistant General Secretary (AGS) where appropriate

**Main Responsibilities**

**_Campaign and Project Leadership _**
- Effectively lead campaigns and projects in the Region
- Develop and execute robust campaigns and projects across the region including the integration of ITF global campaigns into Asia Pacific
- Develop campaign and project capacity both internally and within the network of affiliates
- Lead campaign and project planning for the Region in collaboration with affiliates, and both London and Regional teams

**_Political Leadership _**
- Collaborate with other key stakeholders of the global ITF leadership under the direction of the GS/AGS with express responsibility for the delivery of the ITF global initiatives in the Region
- Formulate and lead the development of the regional work plan that reflects global strategic directions and priorities and implementation of such
- Proactively develop and monitor union building and project work in the Region
- Responsible for governance meetings within the Region and liaison with London Headquarters.
- Foster and lead solidarity support across the Region
- Extend ITF affiliations in Region
- Maintain positive communications with affiliates in the Region
- Develop and maintain external relations including joint work with other regional Global Union Federations (GUFs)
- Effectively represent ITF to external organisations in the Region
- Proactively ensure regular communication with the OGS on matters relevant to the ITF within the Region

**_Administration of Staff and Office _**
- Efficiently manage ITF offices, budgets and finances across the Region respecting timelines and compliance requirements
- Effectively lead and manage ITF employees in the Region to achieve ITF goals and strategic directions
- Ensure maximum efficiencies in the operations of the Region’s offices
- Enable a culture of open communication between employees and senior management to enhance employee engagement with ITF, its mission and values

**_Other_**
- Any and all duties commensurate with the grade of the post as directed by General Secretary to meet the needs of the organisation
