Regional Airfreight Director

**Job Overview**:
As the **Regional Airfreight Director**, you will be the **strategic and operational head of airfreight for the Asia Pacific region**, directly responsible for **profit and loss (P&L)**, commercial growth, and operational execution across all countries under your leadership. You will work closely with corporate HQ, country managers, and global business units to drive the airfreight business forward - **from sales and product strategy to execution and performance monitoring**.

You will lead a team of experienced freight professionals and ensure all teams are aligned, well-supported, and empowered to achieve ambitious regional goals. This role requires a rare combination of strategic vision, operational insight, commercial instinct, and leadership excellence.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Strategic Ownership & P&L Management**
- **Own the full airfreight P&L for Asia Pacific**, ensuring strong financial performance, margin management, and sustainable growth.
- Translate global strategies into regional execution plans, adapting to local needs and market conditions.
- Collaborate with corporate HQ and local entities to support strategic decisions, pricing frameworks, investment proposals, and cost control measures.
- Monitor regional performance closely, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.

**Leadership & Organisational Development**
- Lead and mentor regional airfreight leadership team including country heads and the Regional Operations Manager.
- Create a **unified, high-performing culture**rooted in accountability, agility, and excellence.
- Drive recruitment, training, and succession planning across the region; support talent mobility and cross-border collaboration.
- Champion a **customer-first mindset**across all levels of the airfreight organisation.

**Operational Excellence & Product Development**
- Ensure excellence in airfreight operations, including SOP implementation, quality control, and compliance across 10+ countries.
- Oversee **implementation of new setups**and major transitions, including automation, process improvement, and team onboarding.
- Lead product development initiatives, including perishable-focused solutions, premium handling options, and digital tools.
- Drive alignment of CargoWise and TMS processes to improve transparency and control.

**Commercial Strategy & Growth Execution**
- Directly support commercial teams in securing and growing **strategic accounts**, including participating in major RFQs, tenders, and customer presentations.
- Guide pricing strategy, market positioning, and service design to stay ahead of competitors.
- Build and maintain relationships with airline partners, strategic vendors, and corporate procurement.
- Actively **identify, pursue, and own**regional growth opportunities - including new trade lanes, partnerships, or acquisition targets.

**Market Intelligence & Stakeholder Engagement**
- Stay ahead of trends in airfreight, perishables, consumer demand, and regulatory frameworks across Asia Pacific.
- Provide HQ and stakeholders with insights, forecasts, and scenario planning for better regional decision-making.
- Represent the region at **global leadership meetings**, trade shows, and industry events.

**Requirements**:

- **15+ years**of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain, with **at least 5 years in a regional or P&L leadership role**.
- Proven ability to **lead cross-functional, multicultural teams**across multiple geographies.
- Commercially savvy with strong **business development and negotiation skills**.
- Track record of owning and growing a business line with measurable P&L impact.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills at all levels.
- Strong analytical capability; highly proficient in **Excel (incl. macros), PowerPoint**, and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of **CargoWise**or similar systems is a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the region and globally.
