Regional Airfreight Operations Manager

**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a **senior operational leader**to oversee and drive operational excellence across our **perishable airfreight operations in Asia Pacific**. As the **Regional Airfreight Operations Manager**, you will be responsible for strengthening the quality, consistency, and performance of our logistics network across 10+ countries, while actively contributing to the region’s commercial success and long-term strategic growth.

This is a high-impact role within a fast-paced, customer-focused global organisation, suited for a motivated logistics expert with a proven background in airfreight, team leadership, project execution, and cross-border collaboration.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Operational Leadership & Regional Oversight**
- Oversee airfreight operations across 10 countries in Asia Pacific, ensuring compliance, quality, and service excellence in **perishable logistics**.
- Design and implement efficient operational processes in both mature and new market setups.
- Ensure alignment of operational KPIs across countries and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support local teams during new country setups by providing operational roadmaps, process implementation guidance, and post-launch follow-up.

**Commercial & Strategic Execution**
- Support the **Regional Director**in delivering **airfreight profitability**targets through operational efficiency and margin-focused decisions.
- Provide input into regional RFQs, pricing strategies, and make commercial decisions outside RFQ cycles to win or retain business.
- Work closely with country managers and the commercial team to **identify and convert business opportunities**, support account management, and participate in client engagements.

**Market Intelligence & Strategic Growth**
- Maintain deep understanding of **regional product flows**, seasonality, market trends, retail behaviours, and consumer buying patterns.
- Contribute to corporate procurement, carrier strategy, and local partner development.

**People Development & Talent Management**
- Lead a multi-country operations team, nurturing a **culture of excellence, ownership, and accountability**.
- Drive performance management, coaching, and succession planning across the region.
- Identify and develop internal talent pipelines, promoting **cross-border collaboration**and international exchange where possible.

**Project Management & Governance**
- Support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the airfreight region.
- Assist in monitoring financial performance and initiate corrective actions where needed.
- Champion and lead cross-functional or regional improvement projects, including process standardisation, digitalisation, and technology implementation.

**Requirements**:

- **Minimum 10 years**of experience in **airfreight, logistics, or supply chain**, including at least 5 years in regional or multi-market roles.
- Deep operational expertise in **perishable logistics**, with understanding of packaging, cold chain, and global market flows.
- Commercial acumen and ability to link **operational execution to financial performance**.
- Proven track record of **people management**, team building, and succession planning across multiple cultures and geographies.
- Strong **project management skills**, with ability to drive initiatives to completion across borders.
- High level of **independence, ownership, and initiative**; comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving in dynamic environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Other Asian languages are a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially **Excel/macros**, PowerPoint) and experience in CargoWise or equivalent TMS is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel frequently across the Asia Pacific region and globally for meetings, trade shows, and internal engagements.
