Singapore Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority Full time

**What the role is**
- The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) is the regulator of business registration, financial reporting, public accountants, and corporate service providers. We are also responsible for developing the accountancy sector and setting the accounting standards for companies, charities, co-operative societies, and societies in Singapore. The Professional Oversight Department (POD) oversees the registration and disciplinary matters of public accountants and accounting entities. POD also reviews the ethical standards for adoption by public accountants practising in Singapore.

**What you will be working on**
- Lead in projects to check on compliance with the Accountants Act requirements (e.g., CPE, professional indemnity insurance etc) and propose enforcement action against non-compliant PAs/PAEs.
- Work with external stakeholder to obtain CPE data and conduct check on the accuracy of the data provided and follow up on compliance with enforcement order for CPE non-compliant cases.
- Process straightforward enquiries relating to the department's areas of work escalated from customer service. Provide appropriate suggestions or follow up with stakeholder on complex enquiries.
- Process department's systems-related matters including raising problem reports and service requests raised to investigate and/or fix systems issues and data change requests to correct the information in the registry system and in performing UAT.
- Process simple complaints received against PAs/PAEs which include assessing the merits of the complaints and recommending appropriate action to be taken; and provide administrative support to the Complaints and Disciplinary Committees where constituted to inquire into the complaints.
- Assess and assist with the ad hoc requests from other divisions and undertake as project lead other tasks relating to enforcement of regulatory requirements on public accountants as required eg follow up with PAEs without PAs for revocation.
