GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Bank Julius Baer is setting up an ‘Innovation Lab’ in Asia, named Launchpad, sponsored by the Region Head APAC. Disruption in financial services is accelerating, changing the way people bank and how the world does business. Launchpad is one of the drivers to adapt Julius Baer to an evolving environment to build the future of Private Banking.

The mission of Launchpad is to actively drive innovative solutions for Julius Baer, by identifying, conceptualizing and incubating new business models, services and technologies that add value to our clients and the bank in Asia.

The Innovation Engagement Manager will report into the Head of Launchpad Asia and will be a key member of the core Launchpad Team in APAC. Launchpad is a key innovation driver for the bank and this role will align the bank’s innovation activities to meet business and transformation ambitions. The roles involves close collaboration with global innovation and project teams in Zurich.

**YOUR CHALLENGE**:**KEY FEATURES and accountabilities**
**Innovation Scout**:

- Explore disruptive trends in the financial industry and emerging players within technology ecosystem. Establish Innovation ‘Radar’ for Julius Baer to be on top of the disruption that is happening in APAC
- Drive thought leadership through the publishing of white papers and perspectives and bringing the outside in
- Work closely with Julius Baer Global Trend Lab to spot opportunities and provide an APAC focus to insights

**Collaborative Innovation**:

- Actively drive Julius Baer’s participation in the innovation ecosystem (in particular in the area of FinTech) to connect and develop strong relationships that can be leveraged by the bank
- Ensure that the bank is well represented externally and has the opportunity to showcase solutions which Launchpad has developed
- Identify opportunities where Julius Baer can be an active participant in innovation, from proof-of-concepts with startups to co-creation with other innovation labs and technology players

**Innovation Engagement**:

- Develop internal innovation engagement strategy that will help to drive mind-set change within Julius Baer by working closely with Launchpad User Experience & Design Lead
- Responsible for leading the setup of Launchpad Innovation Circles, decentralized forums for ground up innovation within Julius Baer
- Collaborate with Julius Baer Academy to identify and develop training content that will be relevant for the bank of the future
- Partner with key stakeholders to drive cultural change towards innovation and agile

**Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management**:

- Collaborate with legal & compliance teams to assess regulatory considerations of Launchpad solutions

Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

**YOUR PROFILE**:**SKILLS REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION**
**Professional and Technical**:

- Bachelor’s Degree
- Familiar with client needs in banking (retail, affluent or private banking), as well as banking platforms
- Minimum 6 years of product / platform ownership, innovation, project management and delivery experience, either inside an organization or as entrepreneur in a FinTech startup
- Experience working in startups, incubators, VCs or similar entrepreneurial roles is a plus
- Good understanding of participants in the innovation ecosystem
- Strong ability to connect the dots and identify linkages and opportunities
- Previous experience with working in an Innovation Lab is a plus
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience of partnering with IT in a Scrum setup
- Demonstrated capability for problem solving and decision making
