The Agri-Food Facilitation Department (Farms Section) drives industry development of the farms sector through account management, facilitating business development and capability building initiatives to transform and drive the growth of Singapore's farming industries.
[What you will be working on]
Candidate's key job roles include:Account management and facilitating business development opportunities for farms, to drive the growth of Singapore's farming sector, in support of our overall food security strategies. This comprises: Understanding farms' growth plans and strategies, and supporting them in building capabilities for productivity improvement and business growth. Functioning as the key point of contact in SFA for information sharing, market intelligence, engagement, feedback and coordination on farm regulatory matters. Working across government to attract and anchor best-in-class global agri-food players to set up production capabilities (farms) in Singapore
Promoting the adoption of industry standards, technology and best practices amongst farms. This comprises:
Building a sound understanding of regional/global agri-food industry through research and analysis of local and global trends.
Identifying, establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including other government agencies, institutions of higher learning, research institutions and industry partners to develop solutions for business upgrading and growth.
Disseminating information on industry trends and relevant support schemes to farms through engagement sessions and the industry association.
Qualifications
- A degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or Science.
- Preferably with at least 3 year's work experience or at least 1 year of account management working experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills. Fluency in Chinese is essential to communicate with the Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Business-savvy, possess industry knowledge and account management skills.
- Analytical, self-motivated, result-oriented and dynamic. Able to thrive under pressure, work independently and within a team.
- Keen interest or knowledge in agricultural industry.
- Work requires frequent travel to aquaculture farms located off-shore, and candidates should have a good level of physical fitness and be able to swim at least 50m in tidal waters without floatation aids
