Job Description

  • Provides personal care assistance to residents in their daily living, eg. supervises the residents in the washing and ironing their laundry.
  • Performs tasks according to the care plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of residents' conditions and care treatments.
  • Provides inputs for the development and review of care plans.
  • Ensures house rules are followed by residents and recommends measures to mitigate risk to them.
  • Conduct activities for residents to promote independence, health, wellness and quality of life.
  • Provides guidance to residents on personal and social skills academics or work skills.
  • Assess and respond to crises or conflicts and escalate to the Residential Manager/Head of Home when needed.
  • Participate in treatment/review meetings, familiarise oneself with the background, treatment plan, and daily progress of all clients, and help implement their treatment plans.
  • Be a mentor/role model to the residents and provide any feedback to the Residential Manager and Social Worker on residents' behaviours and compliance with activities that are part of their treatment plan.

Requirements

  • A diploma holder with at least 1 year of relevant working experience will be an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills – able to relate easily to other people, particularly children/youths, and to form positive working relationships.
  • To be aware of the needs to maintain a protective and nurturing environment for children/youths who have experienced trauma in their lives.
  • Independent and able to work as a team.
  • Able to commit 4 days work-week, 40 hours a week.
  • Able to work on rotating shifts, including one weekend and public holidays.
  • Working location will be at 9 Lorong 8 Toa Payoh, Good Shepherd Place, Singapore
