Key Responsibilities – Chef de Partie

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie to join our kitchen brigade — someone who takes pride in owning their section, leads by example, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality environment.

This isn't just about keeping things running — it's about raising the bar with every service. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Section Management

  • Take ownership of a specific kitchen section, ensuring the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes meet premium quality standards.
  • Maintain consistency in flavour, texture, and presentation in every dish served.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Guide, mentor, and support junior team members, including Commis and Demi Chefs.
  • Provide hands-on training and share best practices to elevate kitchen performance and food safety.

Quality Assurance

  • Be the final checkpoint for everything that leaves your section. Flavour, presentation, portioning — nothing slips past your standards.
  • Uphold the kitchen's commitment to excellence in every dish served.

Food Preparation & Culinary Execution

  • Execute set recipes with skill, speed, and accuracy — while always looking for ways to refine and elevate your work. You'll also ensure ingredients are stored and handled properly to meet food safety standards.

Kitchen & Hygiene Maintenance

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workstation in line with food safety regulations.
  • Use kitchen equipment responsibly and report any maintenance needs promptly.

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Monitor stock levels in your section and communicate shortages or needs to the Sous or Head Chef.
  • Ensure freshness and minimise waste through effective inventory rotation and portion control.

Menu Innovation & Development

  • Collaborate with senior chefs to develop and test new menu items.
  • Contribute creative ideas for seasonal offerings and improvements to existing dishes.

Team Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the rest of the kitchen and front-of-house to deliver smooth, coordinated service. We win as a team.
  • Participate in daily briefings and contribute to a supportive, high-performance kitchen environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role in a professional kitchen.
  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Culinary certification or relevant training is a plus.

Preferred Background:
