Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate Western cuisine dishes according to recipes and outlet standards.
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu preparation, portion control, and daily specials.
  • Ensure food quality, freshness, and consistency in all dishes served.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in compliance with SFA guidelines.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist in daily inventory, and minimize food wastage.
  • Handle stock ordering and ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff when required.
  • Uphold outlet's reputation for quality, speed, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef background in Western cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of Western cooking techniques (grilling, roasting, sauce preparation, plating).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, teamwork-oriented and willingness to learn.
  • 6-day work week; flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin, as the role requires interaction with suppliers and kitchen staff who may only speak one of these languages.
  • Possess a valid food hygiene certificate.
