Strategic Market Development Manager

Our client is a leading global manufacturer of specialty chemical solutions with a strong presence across the automotive and industrial sectors. As the Strategic Market Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth across key automotive segments. This is a highly visible, cross-functional position where you will identify emerging market opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies, and collaborate closely with regional sales, marketing, and technical teams to translate strategy into commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic market plans to expand presence in targeted automotive and adjacent sectors.
- Identify new business opportunities through market intelligence, competitive benchmarking, and customer insights.
- Work with R&D and product management to align innovation pipelines with market needs and customer roadmaps.
- Lead market-entry or expansion initiatives, including feasibility assessments, business case development, and partnership strategies.
- Support strategic pricing, portfolio positioning, and long-term customer engagement initiatives.
- Represent the company at key industry events and engage with strategic accounts to strengthen relationships and brand visibility.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in business development, strategy, or market development roles within the chemical, materials, or automotive sectors.
- Strong understanding of automotive supply chain dynamics (OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, emerging EV ecosystem).
- Proven ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies and commercial outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working in a matrix or regional setup.
