This role is pivotal in driving business expansion by opening new channels, entering new markets and territories, and developing clinical specialties, and other emerging areas. You will lead business development strategies, build strong relationships with doctors and hospital stakeholders, and guide the commercial team to convert opportunities into long-term partnerships. Working closely with senior leadership, you will shape market penetration plans, identify new growth avenues, and strengthen the organisation's overall portfolio. Good to have experience managing Malaysia and Philippines market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Expansion, New Channels & Business Growth
Identify, penetrate, and develop new hospital accounts and clinical specialties.
Expand coverage into new regions, territories, and market segments.
Map potential accounts and engage specialists, KOLs, hospital administrators, and procurement units.
Lead new business ventures and plan market-entry strategies for new products, specialties, and regions.
Execute channel development initiatives to improve revenue streams and meet market demands.
2. Lead Conversion, Sales Enablement & Relationship Building
Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, specialists, and healthcare professionals.
Guide and support the sales team to increase lead-to-deal conversion rates.
Conduct joint customer visits, presentations, and product discussions to strengthen engagement.
Foster strategic partnerships to advance business objectives and create long-term collaborations.
3. Strategic Sales Leadership, Portfolio Development & GTM
Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with organisational goals.
Lead Go-to-Market (GTM) plans for new product launches and new specialty/market entries.
Drive product and market research initiatives to anticipate competitive shifts and emerging needs.
Conduct cost–benefit analysis and financial modelling for new business ventures.
Evaluate the commercial viability and strategic fit of products in the pipeline.
Monitor sales performance, market share, and competitor activities to drive continuous improvement.
Provide timely reporting, revenue tracking, and budget analysis to management.
4. Regulatory, Governance & Compliance
Ensure regulatory requirements, product registrations, and governance processes are effectively met.
Maintain strong corporate governance while driving market growth and business expansion.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to ensure cohesive execution.
Provide field insights to refine marketing strategies, product positioning, and launch planning.
Education
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Medical Science, or other relevant fields.
- Minimum 3–5 years of Business Development and/or Sales & Marketing experience in healthcare, medical devices, or related industries.
- Experience in specialties such as ENT, Cardiovascular, Urology, or similar clinical areas is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in opening new markets, channels, and hospital accounts.
- Strong relationships with doctors, specialists, and hospital decision-makers.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a growth-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Proven track record in market development, channel penetration, and achieving sales targets.
- Skilled in financial modelling, cost–benefit analysis, CRM, and data-driven sales reporting.
- Tenacious, results-focused, and comfortable navigating new territories and specialties.
