To lead the kitchen operations for the new outlet, design authentic and innovative menus, uphold food quality and hygiene standards, manage costs, and inspire a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Development & Innovation – Create and regularly update authentic North & South Indian dishes; design seasonal specials; balance tradition with modern presentation.
  • Operational Excellence – Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring timely preparation and smooth service.
  • Leadership & Training – Hire, train, and mentor Sous Chefs, Junior Chefs, and Helpers; set performance standards.
  • Quality & Consistency – Standardize recipes, ensure consistent taste, portion size, and presentation.
  • Cost & Inventory Management – Control food costs, minimize wastage, manage stock rotation, and liaise with suppliers for quality sourcing.
  • Compliance – Ensure SFA food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards are met.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep expertise in Indian cuisines (North & South, including tandoor, curries, biryani, breads).
  • Proven leadership in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Menu engineering and cost control knowledge.
  • Strong communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
  • Creativity balanced with operational discipline.

  • Reports to: Restaurant Manager / Owner
  • Supervises: Sous Chef, Junior Chefs, Kitchen Helpers
  • Role type: Full-time, 6-day roster, shifts including weekends/public holidays
