Our client, a well-known Japanese construction company, is recruiting for a Technical BD Manager (Japanese speaking).

This role will be responsible for researching new technologies which may related to our group business, and evaluating and developing new business opportunities to expand in South-East Asia, which are from Japan or local origin.

This position is reporting to the Regional Manager, APAC.

【What you will be working on】

- Collaborate, actively support, and implement a strategy, plan, and goals for the entire Business Innovation team in South-East Asia (including related projects from SVVL and spinout companies), including recommendations on different options and the best paths to launch new businesses.

- Lead or assist the assigned HQ's new business activities in South-East Asia, evaluating market potential and launching strategy as appropriate. Play an active, hands-on role in establishing new businesses, including HR recommendations and locating the suitable eco-partners and potential clients.

- Determine the best tactics and approaches for launching allocated local origin new enterprises.

- Work with internal stakeholders such as our Construction-Tech Lab Singapore and the Technology Research Institute to find and support opportunities to commercialize new technology.

- Collaborate as needed with our stakeholders throughout Asia, Japan, and the United States.

- Develop partnerships with critical ecosystem participants, such as government, education, entrepreneurs, and other businesses and organizations.

- Stay current on the concept of business innovation, such as the creation and delivery of new customer value in the marketplace with a sustainable business model for the organization that incorporates the latest development, startups, and construction sector.

- Work together to examine the potential for venture investments in the region, including developing and updating an investment thesis.

- Comprehend and adhere to the administrative regulations and innovation playbook of the Business Innovation Division. Create a localized playbook based on project experiences.

- Share any type of papers, outputs, and information that you create utilizing BOX or equivalent sharing system with HQ Business Innovation Division.

- Stay ahead of market trends by monitoring industry advancements and emerging technologies, as well as providing technical insights and solutions to support sales and marketing activities.

【What they're looking for】

(Must)

‐ Possess Bachelor's degree of Engineering in Computer Science, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related fielld

- At least 10 years of working experience as a business development manager with proven sales track record

- Possess knowledge of corporate innovation

- Possess experience in managing projects and creating strategies

- Fluent in English and Japanese(N1) in order to communicate with counterparts

- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)

- Able to go on a business trip if required

- Strong understanding of technical products, software, or engineering solutions.

(Advantageous)

- Possess an MBA or other business degree

- Knowledge of cloud computing, AI, IoT, or other emerging technologies is a plus.

- Preferably with startup experience, as this role involves agility and hands-on execution.
