Summary:

This role supports the Head of Performance Management in managing promotion, appraisal, and ranking systems for junior officers in a high-integrity and protocol-driven environment. It's operational, policy-focused, and demands stakeholder interaction, analytical precision, and trust handling sensitive decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support promotion and appraisal exercises by preparing reports and documentation for ranking and performance review meetings.
  • Work alongside different departments as part of a mobile team to assist in on-site evaluation and promotion discussions.
  • Collect and organize performance-related data, including physical fitness test scores and other assessment results.
  • Process eligibility for promotion for officers, including those from the Auxiliary Police Force.
  • Help review appeals related to performance or promotion, and assist in drafting recommendations for salary increments and bonuses.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in any field – preferably with exposure to structured or regulated environments (e.g., government, education admin, law enforcement, compliance).
  • Strong analytical and judgment skills – able to apply policy rules and evaluate cases fairly and consistently.
  • Experience in public sector, education admin, audit, regulatory work, or operations in disciplined environments (not just HR).
  • Comfortable with high-stakes decisions – experience handling confidential records, evaluations, or appeal documentation is a strong plus.
  • Able to follow SOPs precisely and maintain consistency in documentation, reporting, and execution.
  • Willing to travel between departments or divisions as part of a roving team for ranking support.
  • Independent and reliable – able to work with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint – including data handling and formatting reports; MS Access is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal communication – confident liaising with officers, supervisors, and senior ranking boards.
