UPS Solution Manager

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Solution Design:
1. Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and propose tailored UPS/DC power solutions.
2. Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and load analysis to recommend optimal power backup and distribution designs.
3. Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and solution demonstrations for clients.
4. Ensure solution compliance with industry standards, power regulations, and client specifications.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Serve as the technical point of contact for customers throughout the pre-sales process.
2. Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers to develop competitive and innovative UPS/DC solutions.
3. Conduct customer training, workshops, and technical Q&A sessions on UPS and DC infrastructure.
4. Address client concerns and technical queries to support deal closure and project execution.
Manage and coordinate with key vendors and partners to gain their competitive support in all projects.
Identify new projects and propose design or product specs to customer's needs.
Develop and maintain close relationships with customers, consultants, vendors and partners.
Key account strategy planning and business development to meet annual targets
Technical Expertise & Optimization:
Travel to project sites survey, witness start-up, integration, and training session when necessary.
Assist in designing UPS sizing, battery backup strategies, power distribution, and redundancy planning.
Stay updated with emerging power backup technologies, energy efficiency trends, and data centre innovations.
Provide recommendations for scalability, energy efficiency, and total cost optimization of power solutions.
Support the preparation of RFPs, RFQs, and tenders, ensuring technical compliance and cost-effectiveness.
Collaboration & Project Support:
1. Work with project teams, engineers, and procurement to ensure smooth implementation of proposed solutions.
2. Coordinate with vendors for technical product evaluations and pricing negotiations.
3. Maintain a knowledge base of power solutions, competitive products, and industry best practices.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Deep understanding of power backup systems, load calculations, and redundancy design.
- Familiarity with Tier-rated Data Centers, power management, and energy efficiency principles.
- Ability to analyze technical requirements, troubleshoot power issues, and recommend optimized solutions.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in solution management or related turnkey solutions in a Data Centre environment / Engineering & Building Services Industry.
- Self-driven with initiative.
- Proven and strong interpersonal skills to communicate well with customers, colleagues and vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in Microsoft Visio and Auto-Cad.
- Read architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical blueprints and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure control systems and network communications technology – Internet, Intranet, VPN, TCP/IP, Ethernet, etc. will be a plus.
