What the role is
A career that challenges you to grow as an individual, a leader, and above all, the ability to transform lives. The Singapore Prison Service offers a unique opportunity to rise above the ordinary and make a profound impact on society. At Singapore Prison Service, we play a vital role in safeguarding our nation by ensuring the safe and secure custody of offenders. But our mission goes far beyond just that. We are the driving force behind the rehabilitation and reintegration of those in our care, helping them build their positive identity and successfully navigate the society after their release. This is not just a job; it's a calling. As part of our dynamic team of uniformed and civilian officers, you will be at the forefront of real-life challenges that test your resolve, hone your leadership skills, and make every day an opportunity to inspire change. In this role, you will be more than just a custodian—you'll be a leader, strategist, and innovator. You'll manage the daily operations essential to maintaining the safe and secure custody of offenders, ensuring that all procedures and protocols are adhered to with precision and care. Your responsibilities will also extend to enforcing regulations and maintaining order within the facility. Beyond these core duties, you will have the opportunity to delve into the broader departments that drive our prison's operations and corrections work. You'll gain exposure to policy development, contributing to projects that shape the future of corrections. You will be able to collaborate with community partners and other stakeholders, playing a key role in initiatives that strengthen our rehabilitation efforts and enhance our overall mission. This role is dynamic and multifaceted, offering a unique blend of leadership, operational management, rehabilitation and reintegration work.
