Presales Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Presales Consultant to work closely with the sales team, vendors, and partners to design customized IT solutions that address customer needs. In this role, you will be responsible for developing technical proposals, presenting solutions, and ensuring seamless integration across various technologies. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance business, technical, and cost considerations to deliver optimal solutions for our clients.

Job Responsibility:

• Collaborate with the sales team, vendors, and partners to provide pre-sales technical support in designing IT solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Design IT solutions that balance business needs, technical feasibility, cost considerations, and resource estimates, while aligning with customer requirements and ensuring optimal value and impact.
• Prepare tenders and technical proposals, ensuring they reflect customer needs, technical specifications, and cost considerations.
• Present and demonstrate proposed solutions to customers, clearly communicating their technical and business benefits, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment with customer needs.
• Lead technical compliance when responding to customer requirements, ensuring solutions integrate across multiple products.
• Stay current with industry trends to provide ongoing technical expertise to the sales team and customers through presentations, demos, and updates.
• Work with post-sales teams to ensure solutions are successfully delivered as proposed.

Requirements:

• Ability to quickly adapt and leverage available resources (documentation, vendor solutions, etc.) to bridge knowledge gaps on emerging technologies.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with sales, technical teams, vendors and customers.
• Broad experience across multiple sectors, including commercial, healthcare, finance, education, and government.

Technical Expertise:

Strong technical expertise in one or more of the following areas, with the ability to independently research and learn additional areas; familiarity with more areas is a plus:

• Networking Infrastructure & Protocols:

• Core Networking: LAN, WAN, SDN, NFV, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPv6

• Wireless: 802.11ac/ax wireless technologies and integration into network architectures
• Network Automation & Orchestration: Tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SDN orchestration (e.g., Cisco DNA Center)

• Data Center, Cloud, and Cyber-Resilient Data Management Solutions

• Data Center Infrastructure & Virtualization: Server architecture, SAN, NAS, HA, DR, VMware, Hyper-V, VDI, SDS

• Storage Solutions: High-Performance Storage, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Object Storage, NAS
• Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
• Cloud Platforms & Technologies: AWS, Azure, hybrid/multi-cloud solutions, cloud migration, cloud security, cloud automation, VPC
• Cyber-Resilient Data Fabric: Design with implementation consideration of a unified data architecture ensuring data protection, disaster recovery, and secure mobility across on-premise and cloud environments. Integrate technologies such as deduplication, replication, encryption, ransomware protection, and rapid recovery workflows to ensure critical data remains secure and recoverable, even during cyber-attacks or operational failures.

• Optical Networking & Transport Solutions:

• DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technologies for high-capacity optical networks, long-haul transmission, OTN (optical transport networks), and fiber-optic solutions

• Wavelength multiplexing and integration with data centers, telecom networks, and hyperscalers (e.g., AWS, Azure)

• Emerging Technologies:

• AI-Driven Network & Systems Management: Leverage AI tools for network traffic analysis, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and automated troubleshooting, enhancing network monitoring and resolving issues proactively.

• AI-Optimized Networking for Data Centers: Design high-throughput, low-latency optical networks and enterprise SDN solutions optimized for AI workloads, ensuring scalable, efficient data transfer and network automation for AI-driven applications.
• Quantum Safe Networks and Quantum Cryptography for enhanced security and encryption.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A strong understanding of current and emerging IT solutions, with the ability to identify, research, and apply best-fit solutions for customers.
• Experience with both pre-sales and post-sales activities, including customer engagement, technical solution development, and solution delivery.

• Relevant certifications are highly preferable, such as:

• Cisco: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE

• AWS: AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Microsoft: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Systems Administrator
• VMware: VCP (VMware Certified Professional) and other relevant certifications in networking, cloud, and security.
• CIENA: Certified Network Associate (CNA), Certified Network Expert (CNE)
