**Marine Agency Services**
The Marine agency business was introduced at the end of the 1990’s. This division provides dedicated support services including but not limited to vessel clearances, supervision of cargo calls (including protective agency services) coordinating bunker calls and owner’s husbandry (both technical and crewing) requirements.
Over the years the Marine Agency division has focused its attention on owners, operators, managers, traders, shippers and receivers in the following sectors of the industry.
- Dry Bulk
- Wet Bulk and Gas
- Break-Bulk, Heavy Lift and Projects
- Cruise
- Ship Management
**The Role**
Ben Line Agencies prides itself on customer interaction by means of generating sound commercial relationships, attending to our customers’ needs and assisting to solve any issues arising which might compromise the port call. The position will be to focus primarily on the Southeast Asia to India Subcontinent Energy sector, involving but not limited to owners, charterers, shippers, traders within the Energy sector (including woodchips, wood pellets, PKS, coal, Biofuel sectors). This will involve frequent visits to key growing markets particularly Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and India.
The role will also involve market research, analysis as well as commercial and operational performance management of the Company’s Southeast Asia and India sub-continent businesses.
- To sell Ben Line Agencies’ Marine Agency services to an assigned set of clients within the Energy sector.
- Managing and developing given geographical market(s) - Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India. This is to involve a complete bottom-up analysis of the Bulk energy sector on the given trade lanes.
- To involve a market mapping exercise for the company to successfully harness existing support with growth aspirations as well as seeking new opportunities within the business sector.
- To be up to date with any socio, political and economic influences, and activities in the given geographical market(s) which could impact on existing and prospective business in the Southeast Asia and India subcontinent regions. To report these to the Management in Singapore.
- Help generate business sales leads with particular focus and emphasis on FOB receivers in India.
- To establish and form a comprehensive client target pipeline, identifying key decision makers, prospect volumes of calls, understanding the customers’ expectations and requirements together with anticipated revenue projections.
- Identifying areas, to attract support by means of leveraging on the company group strengths. For example, showcasing strengths within the network.
- Through effective performance measurement initiatives, to closely monitor the after-sale element of the business with the Southeast Asia, India Subcontinents operations departments within the energy sector.
- Provide support to country operations managers to ensure that operational standards are being followed on a regional basis with in-country reviews being conducted to identify and correct inconsistencies. To escalate any significant operational issues which concern strategic and group principals and these are to be addressed to the Group General Manager.
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ Management system requirements and Anti-Bribery and Trade Sanctions policies.
- Specific to the Energy sector, to assist in compiling Country Market business plans and contributing towards assisting the groups commercial drive. This involves comprehensive analysis of key performance measurements and communicating these effectively to the countries to improve commercial activity and effective selling. The types of measurements would include but not be limited to the following:
- Analysis of monthly appointment and summary report.
- Analysis of business gains and drop offs by appointment, nomination enquiry, according to commodity sector, customer, country, etc.
- Analysis of Group and Country Business Plans, their sales pipelines, and key objectives set.
- Analysis of financial matters such as ageing and funding agreements
- Overseas travel will be required to help generate business for the assigned geographical market and linking key trading houses in Singapore with Energy sector customers in Southeast Asia and India Subcontinent regions.
**Job Requirements**
