**About the Department**:
**Operational Risk Management** is responsible for identifying, measuring, controlling, and monitoring operational risk, and providing early warning of risk indicators. Limits exposure due to human error, unsupervised trading, transaction processing failure, external events, information systems threats, data integrity, and fraud. The Risk Management function is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk. May include establishing risk management procedures and processes to ensure adherence to policies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide governance oversight for the effective management of operational risks through the various operational risk programmes.
- Develop and maintain relevant operational risk management frameworks, policies and procedures, and oversee consistent and effective operationalization and implementation.
- Lead and drive Scenario Analysis exercise to proactively identify internal control gaps and corrective measures.
- Identify appropriate scenarios for ORMC’s approval.
- Lead the discussion with key stakeholders to identify control gaps.
- Report results of the Scenario Analysis exercise to ORMC and relevant committees.
- Work with and guide the BU/SUs to identify and assess the key risks in their end-to-end key processes, design effective process control test steps to mitigate key risks, conduct self-assessments and monitor operational risks.
- Monitor the effectiveness of process controls tests through analysing, measuring, and assessing the results derived from the operational risk programmes.
- Assess and highlight the operational risks of the BU/SUs via their key risk controls and key risk indicators.
- Review the BU/SU’s Product Programmes to ensure that the operational risks associated with the specific product are identified and addressed appropriately.
- Review the BU/SU’s due diligence and risk assessments on outsourcing service providers as well as 3rd party non-outsourcing service providers.
- Manage the GRC Management Dashboard and KORI-related modules in the bank-wide Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system to ensure that the functionalities of the module are fit for purpose and the user interfaces are user friendly.
- Manage the governance of the bank-wide Policy Portal.
- Promote greater operational risk management awareness among the BU/SUs through the conduct of operational risk training sessions.
- Lead and/or participate in ad-hoc projects from time to time (e.g. risk aggregation and analytics).

**Job Requirements**:

- At least 15 years of banking experience either in operational risk management, audit or other risk control-related function dealing with banking operations including familiarity with business continuity management.
- Degree holder or its equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Excellent interpersonal skills i.e. communication, presentation, negotiation, persuasion skills etc to engage a variety of stakeholders across functions and geographies within the Bank.
- Self-starter with resilience and strong drive to consistently achieve good quality work.
- Highly adaptive and able to manage varying exigencies at work.
- Natural team lead and cross-team collaborator.
- Good understanding of banking operations and related processes would be an advantage.
