
Deputy Director, Security and Emergency Preparedness

[What the role is]
You will manage NLB’s Security and Emergency Preparedness functions by formulating and executing strategies, policies, and plans relating to infrastructure protection, security operation, crisis management and business continuity planning to ensure operational readiness and preparedness in responding to crisis/national emergencies.
[What you will be working on]
- Oversee the management and development of NLB’s physical security infrastructure, systems, and assets (e.g. access control system, security of critical infrastructure) for existing and new facilities and buildings to ensure the organisation’s readiness in infrastructure protection and security operation for NLB’s business activities.
- Manage and drive emergency operations plans to ensure organisation preparedness in responding to National Emergencies (NE). Work with stakeholders, key staff and across divisions on resource and manpower requirements for NE readiness and during NE.
- Manage and drive Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans; review and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans/strategies to ensure continuity of critical business functions during crisis; review and address gaps in the documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures, including risk assessments and business impact analysis.
- Lead and ensure compliance to requirements for certifications such as ISO, Bizsafe, WSH, BCM, Crisis Operations Plans (COP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Validate BCM plans and processes and ensure appropriate communications are administered during crisis. Conduct simulation, table top and ground deployment exercises to test organisational readiness in crisis response, plans and business continuity.
- Manage the planning, procurement and deployment of resources relating to security and emergency preparedness at all NLB buildings and facilities.
- Oversee the crisis and operations planning, coordination and reporting for pandemic flu (e.g. COVID 19), haze and any incidents
[What we are looking for]
- 8 to 12 years of supervisory experience in managing security functions of an organisation, developing and implementing emergency preparedness, crisis management, or security systems designed to prepare and respond to a wide variety of incidents
- Self-motivated with good interpersonal and people management skills
- Good writing and presentation skills
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills
- Adept at both operations and administrative tasks with good planning and organising abilities
- Decisive with the ability to multi-task and work independently under pressure and tight timelines
Successful applicant will be appointed on an initial two-year contract.
