**About the role**

As the Regional Pre-Contracts Manager for the South East Asia Business Unit, you will be accountable for delivery of strategic objectives that align with McConnell Dowell’s Purpose of Providing a Better Life and our Values: Safety and Care, Honesty and Integrity, Customer Focus, Working Together and Performance Excellence. We’re looking for someone to drive our Horizon 2030 strategic objectives while meeting our Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) framework accountabilities.

**As the Regional Pre-Contracts Manager, SEA, you will**:

- Be an engaged and active member of the South East Asia Senior Leadership Team and guide the strategic direction of the Pre-Contracts function for the South East Asia Business Unit as we drive towards our Horizon 2030 strategic objectives.
- Lead tenders (both technically and commercially), and gain relevant corporate governance approvals from tender preparation through to award and handover.
- Ensure appropriate governance, consistency and continuous improvement of Pre-Contracts and Tendering processes across all new business activities within the BU to drive competitive advantage in delivering business outcomes.
- Build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders to effectively implement the businesses strategic plan with key external clients and stakeholders to optimise tender/bid success and support delivery of business plan.
- Ensure the competitiveness, capability and capacity of the Business Unit is maintained and enhanced through continuous improvement, innovation and best practice Pre-Contracts processes.
- Develop in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, strategies for effective market engagement with key external clients and stakeholders.
- Visibly lead and develop Pre-Contracts direct reports instilling a mindset of commercial and individual improvement with particular attention to continuous improvement and innovation.

**About your capability, behaviours and experience**:

- Results driven with high energy and strong leadership qualities. You must be able to lead, influence and motivate people while ensuring connectivity to the wider South East Asia Business Unit and Group Functions and visibly promote our values, strategy, and business plans.
- Forward looking and strategic thinking, including clear focus on profit improvement plans for all allocated projects.
- A collaborative mindset, focused on a learning culture with a willingness to partner within the South East Asia Business Unit and across the wider Group to achieve best-for-business outcomes and continuous improvement for the Business Unit and the Group.
- Significant experience within the Construction and Engineering Infrastructure industry with relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders (customers, regulators, suppliers).

Reporting to the Managing Director, South East Asia this role is a critical leader and a member of McConnell Dowell South East Asia Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The Regional Pre-Contracts Manager has key role relationships within the SLT and Business Unit, specialist Group Engineering, business unit function leads and corporate level functions.
