Position Summary
Reporting to the Regional Manager, Distributor Markets (SEAPAC), the **Area Manager, Distributor Markets (SEA)** manages all aspects within the assigned territory (presently Indonesia and Philippines) - management of distributors, delivery of commercial and marketing objectives with our distributors to achieve results and build long-term brand value. Key pillars of the position include Brand and Distribution Strategy Execution, Commercial Delivery and Distributor Partner Management.
Success in the position will deliver (or over-deliver) against defined annual commercial and marketing goals in assigned territory contributing to exceptional growth of the Edrington brands including The Macallan, Highland Park, Glenrothes, Naked Malt, The Famous Grouse, Brugal Rum, No.3 London Dry Gin. The **Area Manager, Distributor Markets (SEA)** will also play a key role in supporting the Regional Manager, Distributor Markets (SEAPAC) in shaping and aligning the business and marketing support to distributor partners within the SEAPAC region.
Job Description
- Execute defined brand and distribution strategies for the assigned markets across relevant channels and segments with emphasis on The Macallan, and other brands’ activation (within Edrington's portfolio) to support brand development.
- Communicate and cascade Edrington SEAPAC and respective Brand plans priorities to Distributors at the local level.
- Optimise allocation and resources of Edrington and Distributors' teams to deliver against portfolio brand standards for the assigned markets.
- Deliver to exceed the sales and allocation strategy to grow Edrington’s portfolio to solidify market leadership in prestige, both in value and volume, with primary focus on The Macallan.
- Manage brand investment budgets (A&P & Selling Costs) with optimised spend plan to support brand priorities and provide guidance to our Distributors on utilisation of brand investments.
- Collaborate and provide guidance to key stakeholders (Distributors) to ensure excellent brand representation and deployment of Marketing tools e.g. brand guidelines, product sell sheets, promotion collaterals, curated collections, POSMs etc.
- Deliver monthly commercial reports with Distributors on market trend analysis, insights, ad-hoc reporting and business reviews.
- Build exceptional business relationships, drive brand focus, manage performance and delivery of commercial budgets in assigned markets.
- Strengthen Distributors' teams on developing best in class organisational capabilities to support Edrington's business priorities.
- Collaborate with customer service and demand planners to provide exceptional customer service and ensure legal compliance for the assigned markets.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 6 years of work experience in similar capacity from Premium Consumer Goods, Wine, Spirits and Luxury brands is highly desirable.
- Experience in wholesale / distributor management with commercial and brand management accountabilities.
- Strong commercial acumen, coupled with effective negotiation, organisational and budget management skills.
- Mature, self-starter, fast learner, positive, resourceful, solution-minded and collaborative.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) and stakeholder management to interact with a broad network of internal and external stakeholders.
