
Supervisory IT Specialist

**Duties**:
As a Solution Development Branch Manager, you will serve as a first line supervisor at the organization level; assigning work, setting priorities, and reviewing and evaluating work and performance of subordinates; approving leave; coaching and developing employees; recommending corrective or disciplinary actions; assisting in budget planning and projecting short-term needs; managing projects within assigned resources; resolving routine problems that typically impact the objectives of the organizational unit; when required, coordinating with customers outside the immediate organization.
The job requires a problem-solving attitude capable of negotiating the appropriate balance between business partner needs, available funding, organizational priorities, and operational needs. Responsible for solutions that support FAA stakeholders and their business processes, particularly back-office processes. Incumbent will be expected to interface with business partners at various levels of the organization, mentor and motivate staff, and guide teams in the development and sustainment of high-quality and secure deliverables. He/She will have to take ownership and get results despite often limited or insufficient resources or competing priorities.
The incumbent will effectively communicate to keep information flowing within the organization while independently resolving most technical and bureaucratic problems. This includes leading by establishing consensus and resolving conflicts between IT and business stakeholders, within technical teams, and between different levels of the organization. In addition, you will work closely with operational teams in every FAA Office of IT (AIT) service directorate and the Chief Data office to provide reliable, modern, and secure sustainable solutions over the long term.
You will also be expected to innovate. This is a position for a talented change agent who can assess and transform the enterprise integration services portfolio to better meet the needs of its customers and, in some cases, identify opportunities those customers may not recognize themselves. The solution development and operations portfolios consist of several legacy and modernized solutions. The modernized solutions leverage the FCS cloud, mission-support toolchain, automated testing, and DevSecOps methodologies.
