**Duties**:
As a **Supervisory Government Information Specialist**, you will:

- Plan, develop, direct, and execute HUD policies, standards, and procedural guidance on the overall conduct of the FOIA and Privacy Act programs.
- Identify the need for new or revised policies and procedures and analyze the impact of existing or proposed legislation on Departmental FOIA or Privacy matters.
- Work with agency attorneys and in the drafting of formal FOIA and Privacy rulemaking documents for publication in the Federal Register and codification in the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Ensure the development and enhancement of the FOIA and PA tracking systems are implemented, test systems and other changes requested by the Director and/or Deputy Director and advise whether proposed changes would be cost effective or would improve overall operational efficiencies.
- Review complex, sensitive, or unusual FOIA/PA requests, e.g., cases where there may be deficiencies in policy or where FOIA requests produce issues not covered by precedent, and recommend legislative, regulatory, or administrative remedies.

**Key Requirements**:

- Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

**Qualifications**:

- You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
- **Specialized Experience**:For the **GS-14** grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the **GS-13** grade level in the Federal service. **Specialized Experience** for this position includes:
- Contributing to the implementation or oversight of program activities, office operations, or special/priority projects; **AND**
- Assessing the efficiency of a privacy act process, identifying trends, making recommendations for improvements, and implementing departmental procedures; **AND**
- Participating in the development, implementation, and monitoring of information policy program activities or goals.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or** **volunteer service**. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.**Education**:
